Cottonwood Reykjavík - Summer camp
About the Camp
This summer, Cottonwood Reykjavík offers courses in Vesturbær Reykjavík for young people aged 7-12. The instructors of the course are Rebekka Rafnsdóttir and Þuríður Rós Sigðurþórsdóttir together with guest teachers. The course is taught in Icelandic and English. Both instructors have worked at Cottonwood in New York. The structure of the course will be based on Cottonwood’s way of learning.
Great emphasis will be placed on creativity, self-knowledge, communication skills, and independent and critical thinking. Each day begins with each learner setting intention for the day and thus taking part in shaping their day based on their own will, while the instructor supports the children and offers so-called Sparks to ignite the students' interest on their path.
At the end of each day, the students come together and share their experiences and discoveries. We will offer an open working studio for hands- on creativity, guest teachers, field trips and themed projects.
